I’m Josh Sherreitt! Learn-by-doing philosophy guy, lover of all things adventurous. I've worked in many different jobs, including as an ocean lifeguard, speargun manufacturing technician, and rock climbing gym employee. I love exploring how things work and the mechanics behind processes.
I hold a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from California Polytechnic State University Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. I’m seeking a hands on detail oriented and dynamic engineering career where Design for Manufacturability is central. I am seriously interested in the drone and defense industry, particularly in roles involving DFM prototyping design and manufacturing, where tight constraints and real world performance demand disciplined and practical engineering.
My past experiences have sharpened my ability to think critically, work under pressure, and take initiative in both technical and leadership roles. I thrive in fast-paced environments and truly believe that hard work beats talent; something I’ve seen proven time and time again. With a lifelong connection to the ocean, adventure, and the remarkable ingenuity behind human-made engineering achievements, I’m eager to apply my skills to industries that align with my passions.
Growing up in San Clemente, California, I developed a strong connection to the outdoors through surfing, diving, and exploring the coast. My time at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo challenged that familiar world and introduced me to new ideas, people, and ways of thinking.
At Cal Poly, I gained hands-on experience with metalworking, CNC machining, and fabrication while building a solid foundation in engineering theory. Through internships, personal projects, and some incredible mentorship, I’ve deepened my understanding of mechanical design, the manufacturing process, and how ideas become real.
I’m drawn to the overlap between engineering precision and physical craft. I enjoy working with people who not only ask how things work, but are driven to build and test them firsthand.
